Little Acorns- Today we are going to practice counting out loud by rote. Please play counting Ping Pong with someone in your family. Person A starts by saying number "1". Person B then says "2". Carry on, taking turns to say the number that comes next.
E.g. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9....
Remember to count carefully and see how high you can count. I wonder if you can get to 10, 20, 30 or even higher?!
Big Acorns- Today we are going to carry on learning how to 'double' a number. Remember if you double it means you get the same amount again. We are going to be doing this using dominoes.
Using the document below see if you can complete the dominoes by drawing the same number of dots on the blank end to double the number. Then count all of the dots to find out how many there are once you have 'doubled' the number.
If you aren't able to print the document then you could use pieces of card to make the dominoes.
If you have a set of dominoes at home then you could find all the 'double' dominoes (that have the same number of dots on each end) and then count how many dots there are altogether.
