We have been really lucky to have Jen, who is Bertie Oliver's aunt, visit us today and do a workshop about Ancient Egypt. Jen studied Egyptology at university and taught us more about this incredible civilization, it was an exciting way to end our Ancient Egypt topic. The afternoon was split into two parts - the first was all about mummification, where the children learnt in detail about how the Ancient Egyptians prepared bodies for the afterlife through detailed procedures and ceremonies. During the second half, we learnt about what people wore in Ancient Egypt and the children had a chance to dress up. It was a lovely afternoon with lots of engaging, hands on learning. A huge thank you to Jen for coming to share her knowledge with us, it was fantastic fun!
