As a rural, village school our role in the community is a vital one which is mutually beneficial. Children take part in services at St Mary’s church regularly. We attend Toddlers at the Village Hall once a term and Community lunch monthly at which our children often perform. Local people are invited to school events such as our annual open morning, nativity, Harvest service, summer fete and music concert. This year our children picked apples from the village, baked crumbles and delivered them to older people. Local people often come into school to share with us their experiences of life / interests and we benefit from several reading support helpers. We are visited weekly by members of the community who take part in our Open the Book Initiative.
