Every year we use our school self-evaluation to help identify the priorities for school development during the coming year. These priorities enable us to build on our strengths and continue to provide the very best education and experiences for all our children.

All objectives are linked to our Christian distinctiveness because we know that it is by living our vision – Small school, big hearts. Wise, Responsible and Kind like the Good Samaritan – that our objectives are fulfilled.

In 2026–27 our priorities are:

1. Excellence in Early Reading

Continue to build on our excellent outcomes in phonics and early reading, ensuring that every child develops secure and confident reading skills.

2. From Sentences to Independent Writing

Support identified pupils to build on secure sentence-level skills and develop greater fluency, independence and stamina in their writing.

3. High-Quality Teaching and Leadership

Maintain consistency and high expectations through staffing transitions, supporting staff to develop their expertise and leadership.

4. Strong Foundations in Mathematics

Embed Mastering Number in EYFS and Key Stage 1 to further develop secure, fluent and flexible understanding of number.
