Buckland CE Primary School is fortunate both in its beautiful location and in the wealth of facilities available to our children. Our school is housed in a beautiful Victorian building which has been at the heart of the village and serving local children since 1857. We are proud of this long history and of continuing to be an important part of the Buckland community today.

Situated just off the A420 near Faringdon, Buckland is a small, peaceful village surrounded by beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. St Mary’s Church is an important part of our school and village community, and we regularly gather there for special occasions, including our Harvest and Christmas services. Children also visit the church for prayer walks and at other points throughout the school year. We are fortunate to have access to Buckland Memorial Hall, which provides additional space for activities including school productions, PE lessons and special events.

During the summer term, our children use the swimming pool at St Hugh’s School for their swimming lessons.

The school itself benefits from extensive outdoor space, including a large playground, grassed areas, our Forest School and quieter areas for children to enjoy. Our Nursery and Reception children have their own secure outdoor area, with an all-weather surface, providing opportunities for outdoor learning and play throughout the year.

Together, our historic building, extensive grounds and village setting provide a wonderful environment in which children can learn, play and grow.
