Pupils from Buckland Primary enjoyed an unforgettable three-day residential at Hooke Court, fully immersing themselves in the world of the Romans. From exploring historic sites in Dorchester to taking part in hands-on activities such as cooking in a Roman army camp, crafting oil lamps, and creating mosaics, the trip brought history vividly to life. The children also discovered Roman engineering by building arches and launching onagers, all while developing teamwork and new skills. It was a fun, engaging, and educational experience that left pupils with lasting memories and a deeper understanding of Roman life.
