Sycamore Class have enjoyed a fantastic two weeks of creativity as part of the Cambrian Trust Art Week. This year's theme focused on endangered animals, with the children taking inspiration from Andy Warhol's Endangered Species series to explore the bold colours and striking style of Pop Art.
The project began with careful observational drawing, where the children used a grid technique to help them create detailed and accurate sketches of their chosen animals. They then developed their artistic skills further by designing and making stencils of different shapes and sizes in preparation for printmaking.
As the week progressed, the children traced and cut animal silhouettes, adding vibrant colour and detail with oil pastels.
We are incredibly proud of the creativity, perseverance and enthusiasm shown by all of the children throughout the project. A special thank you goes to Lindsay (Charlie F's mum) for her invaluable help and support during the two weeks.
