Oak class had a great workshop to start their Topic focus of The Stone Age. The class went through the five main time periods (Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic, Bronze Age and Iron Age) and handled objects from each era.
Back in class, Oak found out about the importance of flint knapping during this time and learnt what tools they would use to do it. The children were then given a piece of hard soap to have a go at knapping into a worked flint sharp…e.g. arrow head/scrapper.
