Buckland

Church of England Primary School

Small school, big hearts. Wise, Responsible and Kind like the Good Samaritan.

Despite the children being cold and, in some cases, very tired, they have continued to push themselves as much as they can. Today has been a real test of resilience, teamwork and problem solving.

My group have spent their last full day canoeing. We started by learning the fundamentals of canoeing before going on the canal. A quick stop for lunch on the bank was followed by the children continuing to canoe until 430! Canoeing was a big test for many in my group. Saying that, lots of them said it was their most enjoyable activity of the week. Sometimes the hardest things to conquer can be the most enjoyable.

The other 2 groups went caving. Loads of children came to me before dinner telling me it was the most enjoyable day so far. Lots of children tackling their fears and really pushing themselves. Mrs Brown and Mrs Siedle were impressed with the empathy shown by many to support nervous children and the teamwork on display throughout the day.

Tonight we will have a course review and start to pack.
