On Wednesday the 8th November, we visited Abingdon School to take part in a workshop about States of Matter. The children investigated how matter (in this case water) changed from a solid (ice), to a liquid (water) and to a gas (water vapour). The children used Bunsen burners, to heat ice, they took measurements every minute to see the change in temperature as the ice was heated. Finally, almost all the group's water reached boling point and started to evaporate. We discussed what happens to the particles as they change from a solid to a liquid to a gas - the children were super scientists. They were careful, responsible and showed real wisdom around the science equipment - well done Sycamore class!
