Snow greeted the children when they woke up this morning. Lots of excitement around the day's activities with children were rested well after their first sleep away from home - Some managed 10 hours sleep.
Before breakfast, the hoover was on in many rooms as the children compete for best room. Mrs Johnson found it extremely hard to not give full marks to some of the rooms - all staff are very impressed with how tidy the rooms look. Some children said they have never had their rooms as tidy as this morning!
Despite the cold weather, the children were very well layered up today to attempt canoeing or caving.
You will see one group attempted paddle-boarding today during the canoeing session...with great success. Canoeing in the snow was a pretty cool experience - look out for some amazing views in the pictures.
The one group that went caving showed a lot of resilience. With the rising water level because of the snow, the children needed adaptability at all times inside the cave. Responsibility was a word I heard a lot from staff on their return.
I have spoken to children in all three groups before dinner tonight. Each child can excitingly talk about something from their day, even if their fingers/toes were very cold throughout the day.
This evening, we will go on a night walk to a small hill nearby. Fingers crossed it's a clear sky so the children can see the stars!
