We have had a brilliant time in Science today. Science Oxford visited the school to run workshops with all of the classes. This term in Sycamore we are learning about States of Matter, our workshop was all about Changing Materials. We had 6 different materials - tap water, salt water, sugar, solid soap, steel and solder. Our task was to predict what would happen to the materials when they were heated up and then to see for ourselves. The children were very excited to be lighting flames and seeing how the materials changed. We discussed evaporation, condensation, melting, solids, liquids, gases - super science Sycamore class!
