Oak had an excellent fire safety workshop. The children now know that the ‘triangle of fire’ is a combination of fuel, heat and oxygen. They were also shown the main causes of fire in the home. For each cause, a picture of the fire’s impact was displayed. A video was also shown to the class when a match, that had been lit, had been left down the side of the sofa. The fire service recommend that we test our smoke alarms on ‘Test it Tuesday’ - hopefully they have showed this with you. The children have also been asked to design a fire evacuation plan for their own home. Thank you to Niah's Dad for delivering the session to the children.
