Church of England Primary School

Small school, big hearts. Wise, Responsible and Kind like the Good Samaritan.

On Tuesday the 9th May, our Year 4s attended a STEM day at FCC. They had a wonderful time learning about forces; they built their own balloon powered cars, working in pairs supporting and helping eachother. They used card, wooden wheels, dowels, straws and balloons to create their vehicles - the children needed to consider the weight of the car and how to make it streamlined and balanced. The balloons acted as 'engines' pushing the cars forward when the air was released. A huge thank you to Mr Hale who really made the science 'come alive' in an engaging way, and to Rachel Kenyon for organising the day. The children really enjoyed themselves and it was a lovely opportunity for them to meet and play with children from 3 of our partnership schools.
