Curriculum Intent
All children at Buckland school will be provided with the relevant knowledge to help them navigate their world. Through a whole school approach to PSHE and Wellbeing, we strive to teach children how to develop positive relationships with themselves and others, build resilience, emotional awareness and nurture their mental and physical health.
All children, staff and parents at Buckland school will understand that wellbeing is a protective behaviour for the whole community which starts with the self but must include others. Children will develop a greater emotional awareness, thrive and achieve success. Staff will be positive about their roles and feel well supported whilst recognising and celebrating their own, eachothers and whole school achievements. Buckland will continue to be a warm and inviting place to learn and work.
Jigsaw, the mindful approach to PSHE, is a progressive and spiral scheme of learning. In planning the lessons, Jigsaw PSHE ensures that learning from previous years is revisited and extended, adding new concepts, knowledge and skills, year on year as appropriate.
