Church of England Primary School

Small school, big hearts. Wise, Responsible and Kind like the Good Samaritan.

'Due to highly effective improvements implemented by the early years leaders, the proportion of pupils reaching a good level of development has risen and is well above the national average. Teachers in the nursery are highly skilled in their practice and sharply focus on ensuring that each individual makes rapid progress from their starting points.' Ofsted, 2016

Many of our children start as F2s in this class, in conjunction with our integrated nursery. This enables them to make a seamless transition into their F1 (Reception) year. Strong relationships with staff and peers are formed, confidence is found which leads to our children feeling safe and independent in their setting. We enable children to direct their learning and make decisions within a secure framework.

Four highly skilled staff, design learning opportunities to support and get the very best from each child. At times adult directed learning takes place in order to allow children to develop the broad range of skills they need. Learning takes place indoors and outdoors across each of the 17 areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
